Charles Bridge is the oldest standing bridge across the river Vltava in Prague and the second oldest bridge in the Czech Republic. Charles Bridge replaced the former Judith Bridge, demolished in 1342 during the spring thaw. Construction of a new bridge began in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV. and was completed in 1402. Prague has become thanks to the stone bridge an important stop on the European trade routes.

Lesser Town Bridge Tower. The gateway connecting the two towers was created after 1411 and is stamped with countries Wenceslas IV. Lower Bridge Tower is the original fortification Judith Bridge. Old Town Bridge Tower. Bridge tower was built in the 14th century. designed by Peter Parler, along with the bridge. The corner turrets are located at a height of 64 m. Passage of the tower is unique arched vaults Parler vault with a crown instead of the bolt.
